We are delighted to share some of the smaller pieces of the Daniel Collection with you. This is
the first time that any part of the collection has been on public exhibition. We are please to
have the opportunity to share in the 400th anniversary celebrations of the Worshipful Company
of Turners.
The origins of the collection date back to 1999; it now comprises some 150 pieces and continues
to grow. The vast majority of pieces in the collection are by UK turners and/or were bought in
the UK as that is where we live and spend most of our time.
Our first major piece (and the catalyst for the collection) is a large Jarrah form by David
Woodward. Unfortunately, we cannot include it in this exhibition owing to space constraints
but you can view this and other pieces in the Daniel Collection on our website:
http://www.thedanielcollection.com
Whilst the website hopefully gives visitors a good idea of what the pieces are like, as wood is
a tactile, three dimensional medium, we believe the best way to see any kind of wood art or craft
is in person.
We are very happy to share at first hand our collection with other similar minded
“woodies” or indeed any appreciator of art – it is displayed all over our
house – but obviously need to limit the numbers to a few at a time.
If you are interested in finding out more about the Daniel Collection, or indeed wish to arrange
a visit, please contact either of us through the above website.
We hope you enjoy the exhibition.
