Company Summer Reception

The Company summer reception was held in the beautiful courtyard of Apothecaries’ Hall in July.  The Master expressed delight in his welcome speech that the exceptional weather seemed to have encouraged a larger than usual attendance. Members enjoyed fine wine and canapés before being enthralled by Carlyn Lindsay, renowned designer and maker in wood, demonstrating her unique skills on a lathe. In front of an attentive audience of 90 members and guests, Carlyn expertly turned one of her signature, geometrically patterned, lidded bowls.

The evening was enhanced by the addition of Liveryman Gabor Lacko, also member of the Register of Professional Turners, signing copies of his highly informative book, ’60 years of woodturning’.  Gabor has generously donated all proceeds from the sale of his book to the Company’s St Paul’s Bells appeal.  Further opportunities to purchase Gabor’s book will be at the Livery Luncheon on Tuesday 2nd October 2018, and at the Company turning competitions reception and view day on 26th and 27th November 2018.
