The Richard Gardner Williams Banquet and Common Hall
The Richard Gardner Williams Banquet will be held on Wednesday 27th February at Skinners’ Hall. The banquet is held in memory of the Company’s benefactor, Richard Gardner Williams whose legacy in 1931 provided the financial support to enable the Company to build and flourish.
Court Dinner
All members of the Court and Masters Emeriti are invited, to join the Master, Wardens and their guests at the Court Dinner which will take place on Monday 28th January 2019 at Stationers’ Hall, Ave Maria Lane, London EC4M 7DD, commencing at 6.45 pm for 7.15 pm.
The Turners’ Company Livery Dinner
The Company’s Livery Dinner will be held at Saddlers' Hall on Tuesday 18th December with the Lord Mayor in attendance. Please do note the change of venue and date for the dinner. This is a very popular event so please book your places early with the Clerk's office to avoid disappointment.
Turning Competitions Private View & Reception
The Company launches it’s 2018 competitions and would like to invite members to a private view and reception on the evening of Monday 26th November, before the exhibition opens to the public the following day. Many items will be for sale along with some limited edition turned bells.
Patronal Service and Luncheon
St Bride's Church is a magical space in which the beauty of its architecture, the power of the liturgy and the weight of history all meet and enrich each other. The annual service will be held here on Thursday 15th November, to remember and celebrate the lives of Company members no longer with us.
Learn to turn with the Max Carey Trust
For all those Turners with a big “T” who would like to try their hand at turning or to those of you that would like to improve your turning skills, the Events Committee are very pleased to announce that they have arranged another turning weekend at the Max Carey Trust 12th to 14th October.
Livery Luncheon
The Master and Wardens would like to invite Company Liverymen to the annual Company Livery Luncheon on Tuesday 2nd October 2018. This is an informal lunch for Liverymen and their guests and an ideal time to introduce potential new members to the Company.
Not Burns Night Supper
The Social Committee is delighted to invite members to an informal mid-year Burns Supper at the famous Boisdale Restaurant in Victoria. The date is Tuesday 25th September, which aficionados will recognise as exactly 6 months before/after Robert Burns’ birthday (he’s 260 next year).
St Paul’s Bells Recital
Mezzo-soprano Karen Logan with accompanist Alex Aitken, will perform a programme of songs entitled ‘England through the Seasons’, on Thursday September 6th at 7.30 pm in Apothecaries' Hall, in aid of the Turners' Company St Paul's Bells Appeal, followed by a drinks reception.
Loughborough Bell Foundry visit
After significant planning, the 12 St Paul's Cathedral bells were removed from the tower and transported to the John Taylor Bell Foundry in Loughborough for overhauling. The Events Committee have secured an opportunity for members of the Company to see the work in progress on Thursday 19th July.
Summer Reception
As you know the sun always shines brightly and warmly on our Summer Reception so we will again enjoy wine and canapés in the special atmosphere of the Apothecaries’ Hall courtyard on Tuesday 17th July, at 6.30 pm. Carlyn Lindsay will be demonstrating the techniques and skills involved in her work.
Event for Young Turners – Vote With Your Feet
2018 marks the 100th anniversary of the parliamentary act enabling many women to vote. In honour of this milestone, the Pewterers’ bring you a unique treasure hunt on the streets of the City of London. The event is on 14th June and is open to all young Livery & Freemen and their guests.
Guided Evening Stroll around Bloomsbury
From the Pre-Raphaelites to Virginia Woolf and beyond, Bloomsbury has been associated with artists, writers and louche behaviour. The Events Committee have arranged a relaxing, diverting, informative mid-summer stroll around this most interesting part of London.
Election of Sheriffs of the City of London
Liverymen of at least one year’s standing are invited to attend the election of the Sheriffs on Monday 25th June. The election will commence at Guildhall when the Lord Mayor takes the chair at 12 noon precisely and Turners are invited for lunch after the election.
Ypres and Battlefield Tour
To recognise the centenary of the cessation of hostilities in the First World war there will be a Company visit to Ypres and the surrounding battlefields on17th to 19th June 2018. The visit will include the Last Post at Menin Gate with a wreath laying party supplied by the Turners.
Spring Dinner
The Master, Andrew Neill, and the Wardens invite all Liverymen to the Spring Dinner. This will be held at Apothecaries Hall on Thursday 26 April 2018 at 6.45pm for 7.15pm. This dinner provides members with the opportunity to invite family and friends to enjoy the conviviality of a Turners' evening.
Visit to the London Mithraeum
A private tour for members of the Turners' Company has been arranged on 3 May 2018 to London’s newest archaeological attraction, the London Mithraeum. The free visit will start at 7.00pm and last about 45 minutes. Afterwards we will adjourn to a nearby restaurant, ‘The India’, for supper.

Brigantes Winter Gathering
The Brigantes reception and supper will be held in the 650 year old Grade 1 Listed Merchant Adventurers Hall, followed by the annual Christmas Concert in the Nave of York Minster on Friday 15th December. Also enjoy the delights of York for festive shopping and beautiful surrounding countryside.
