When in the coldness and deadness of winter storms from the east with their bluster begin, we sing of that morning, mysterious morning, when Jesus was born in the barn of an inn. Alan Dale
Amidst the whirl of excitement on Christmas morning, with stockings, presents, and the aroma of a wonderful Christmas Dinner, it is so important that we take the time to reflect on what it is that we are celebrating. Our Family Communion service at 11:00am on Christmas Day is an integral part of the Christmas festivities for many of our congregation members and visitors, as we celebrate the coming of the Prince of Peace and reflect on the true meaning of Christmas. The setting on Christmas morning will be the ever-popular Communion Service in F by Harold Darke and, in keeping with the slightly more informal nature of the occasion, carols during the communion will be chosen spontaneously by the choir and the Director of Music, with a chance to hear pieces which may not have been given an airing earlier in the season.
Join us here at 11am in St Bride’s on Christmas morning for a joyful festive service, and make Christmas complete!
Advent is one of the most profound seasons of our year, as we prepare for the celebration of Christmas. We reflect on the needs of our world, to help us recognise the true significance of the coming of the Prince of Peace.
Our many carol services re-tell in words and music the story of the birth of Jesus which would bring a new age of hope to the world through God’s love for us.
We offer a warm welcome to all our visitors, a feast of music from our professional choir, and the best-loved traditional carols to join in and sing.
