The Master and the Wardens wish to remind you that the Richard Gardner Williams Banquet will be held on Thursday 24th February at Saddlers’ Hall. The banquet is held in memory of the Company’s benefactor, Richard Gardner Williams, whose legacy in 1931 provided the financial support to enable the Company to build and flourish. All Liverymen and Freemen are invited to the dinner which will start at 6.45pm for 7.15pm. Dress will be black tie with Company medals and in accordance with Richard Gardner Williams’ wishes; there will be no charge for the evening. As only Company members can attend this banquet, this is truly an excellent opportunity to enjoy the company of your fellow Turners without any other distractions. The Master and Wardens would like to encourage all Liverymen and Freemen to make every effort to attend to honour the memory and generosity of Richard Gardner Williams in the manner that he himself prescribed.
The banquet will be preceded by Common Hall which will be held in the Livery Room of Saddlers’ Hall starting promptly at 5.45 pm. The Master has asked me to remind members of the Company that Common Hall was instigated with the express purpose of allowing Freemen and Liverymen to hear from Committee Chairmen and to question them (and the Court) about the workings and activities of the Company. It is your forum and all those attending the banquet are asked to make every effort to arrive in time for Common Hall. It goes without saying that anyone who can only attend Common Hall will be more than welcome to do so. A report from each of the Committee Chairmen will also be available on the website nearer the time.
