Handmade Oxford – The International Contemporary Arts Festival
When: 27th – 30th June 2019, 10am – 6pm
Where: Waterperry Gardens, Waterperry, Oxford OX33 1LA (map)
Following the success of our events in Edinburgh, Kew and Chelsea, we are excited to present Handmade Oxford – The International Contemporary Arts Festival from Thursday 27 – Sunday 30 June 2019 at Waterperry Gardens.
Join thousands of arts lovers at Handmade Oxford – The International Contemporary Arts Festival for a celebration of craft, design, fine art, sculpture, slow living and artisan food. The festival is presented in collaboration with the Ashmolean Museum and Waterperry Gardens, previously the home of internationally-renowned Art in Action for 40 years (1977 – 2016).
Be inspired by over 250 handpicked exhibitors selling and demonstrating their work, alongside a packed programme of workshops and talks. Meet, commission and shop directly from artisans, while enjoying a day out in the beautiful surroundings of Waterperry Gardens.
Free entry for ages 16 and under, with an accompanying adult. Book festival tickets now at See Tickets – click here to book.
Interested in taking part? Find out more about the event in the Handmade Oxford information pack and then apply online by midnight on Sunday 31 March 2019.
Artists interested in exhibiting large-scale sculpture outside at Waterperry Gardens (27 June – 8 August 2019) should refer to the Outdoor Sculpture Exhibitor Information Pack.
Please be aware that any jewellers applying at this stage will be automatically placed on a waiting list. We have been overwhelmed with an unprecedented amount of applications from jewellery designers, and in order to maintain a balance of disciplines we have had to make the difficult decision to pause before we can offer spaces to anyone else working in this field. If you have any further enquiries about taking part in the event, please contact the Handmade in Britain team on 020 3490 6556 / events@handmadeinbritain.co.uk
COMPETITION
We are also pleased to present an exciting opportunity for artists and designers to win the chance to exhibit one piece of work inside the Ashmolean Museum and Handmade Oxford. You are invited to submit a piece of work which explores and addresses the concept of identity and self expression, while reflecting your cultural or personal identity. This opportunity is presented by Handmade in Britain, Ashmolean Museum and Zealous and the competition closes on Sunday 31 March.
