St Clement Danes Carol Service with 601 Sqn RAuxAF
A service of Christmas readings and carols, followed by a drinks reception to mark the launch of the latest 1941 Appeal cocktail book
Where: St Clement Danes Church, London
When: Sunday 11th December 2022, 11.00 am – 1.00 pm
Book: Free, booking through Eventbrite
Join the community at St Clement Danes, together with members of 601 (County of London) Sqn RAuxAF, for a traditional service of Christmas readings and carols. The service will include congregational favourite carols, as well as music from the professional Choir of St Clement Danes and the Royal Air Force Salon Orchestra (the Orchestra plays by permission of the Air Force Board of the Defence Council).
Following the service there will be a drinks reception to celebrate the launch of a new cocktail book in support of the 1941 Appeal. The last cocktail book was hugely popular and had a fantastic impact on fundraising for the future of St Clement Danes. As well as being able to buy copies of the book, this will be a chance to meet some of the contributors and other supporters of the Appeal, and to find out more over a festive drink and mince pie.
The 1941 Appeal will raise the funding required to repair the church’s famous steeple, originally damaged during the bombing of 1941, open up the crypt as a multi-use community area, renovate the fine church organ, and redevelop the island on which the church sits. This work will help safeguard the future of St Clement Danes as a hub for the whole Royal Air Force family and the local community.
You are very welcome to join us for this special festive carol service.
There is no need for a ticket on the door, but registering for a ticket will help us to plan for the drinks reception.
