The Pole Lathe Turning competition is held in conjunction with the Association of Pole Lathe Turners and Greenwood Workers.

Members of the Association of Pole-Lathe Turners and Greenwood Workers.

Theme

A candlestick.

Details

There are no restrictions as to size, shape or style. One or more pieces of green wood sourced from the British Isles should be used, and the pieces turned on a pole lathe.  The finish should be tooled, with no sanding materials used. Carving, painting or decorating using any applied finish is encouraged.  Fractal burning may not be used.

All work must be executed by the competitor. There is no restriction on the number of entries by each competitor, but the entry must not have been entered in any other Company competition.

Prizes

First prize: £400

Second prize: £200

Third prize: £100.

Only one prize per competitor will be awarded.

Judging is on Monday 26th November (4pm to 6pm).

Public viewing is at the View, Love, Buy show on Tuesday 27th November (10am to 4pm).
