Election of Sheriffs

All Liverymen are invited to attend Common Hall at Guildhall on Monday 26 June 2023 for the Election of the Sheriffs. The Company hold 30 passes and these will be awarded on a first come first served basis, so please email the office if you'd like to attend.


Summer Reception at Tallow Chandlers

Meet some of our award winners at the Company Summer Reception on 12th July where they will be showing a sample of their work, and will be happy to sell or take commissions. We will this year enjoy wine and canapes in the new surroundings of Tallow Chandlers' courtyard.


Apothecaries’ Comedy Night with Fern Brady Headlining

The Young Apothecaries would like to invite your younger members (under 35’s) to a Comedy Night at Apothecaries’ Hall, on Friday 19th May. Tickets are £25 and include 4 drinks at the bar, and are available to book through Eventbrite now.


Election Court and Dinner

In 2022 the Election Court Dinner was opened to all members of the Company for the first time. The dinner will proceed on the same basis this year on 18th May 2023 at Apothecaries' Hall, with the invitation to attend extended to members’ spouses/partners as well.


Agriculture Lecture and Dinner

Members are invited to join the Farmers’ Company and many of our educational course alumni for this informative and social event on 25th April at Plaisterers' Hall.


Max Carey Trust Weekend

We have arranged for Company members to receive a weekend of tuition in woodturning at the Max Carey Trust from 28th to 30th April 2023. All abilities can be accommodated from absolute beginner to very proficient. Please book through the members area if you are wanting to learn to turn!


Spring Dinner

This year the Spring Dinner will be held at Ironmongers' Hall on Thursday 20th April 2023 at 6.15pm for 6.45pm.


Court and Master and Clerk’s Lunch

The Masters’ and Clerks’ Luncheon will take place after the meeting of the Court which meets at 11 am on Thursday 23rd March at Cutlers' Hall. Masters and Clerks of various Livery Companies will be invited as official guests of the Company,


Register of Professional Turners AGM and Lunch

The Company will again be hosting the RPT for their AGM and Craft meeting on 15th March. This will be the first face to face meeting in 4 years and any members of the Company interested in hearing more about the craft are invited to join members of the Register for the day, or any part of it.


Learn to Turn at The Woodturning Shop

Liveryman Les Thorne is offering a one-day experience of turning at The Woodturning Shop, Hampshire at a reduced price of £125 pp, available only to Company members and their guests, on 21st January and 18th February. Please book directly with Les.


Common Hall and Richard Gardner Williams Dinner

The Richard Gardner Williams Dinner will be held on Thursday 23rd February at Girdlers' Hall. The dinner is held in memory of the Company’s benefactor, Richard Gardner Williams whose legacy in 1931 provided the financial support to enable the Company to build and flourish.


Court Dinner

All members of the Court and Masters Emeriti are invited, to join the Master, Wardens and their guests at the Court Dinner which will take place on Thursday 19th January 2023 at The Army & Navy Club, Pall Mall.


Livery Dinner

The Company’s Livery Dinner will be held at Haberdashers' Hall on Monday 19th December 2022. This is your chance to visit the inside of one of the more modern livery halls, and it's stunning especially at Christmas. Please book through the members area in the usual way.


The Musicians’ Company Carol Service

The tradition of sharing the Musicians' Company Carol service at St Michael's Cornhill will take place again this year on Thursday 15th December. The Musicians very much see this as a joint service and it would be good if as many Turners as possible could attend.


Patronal Service and Lunch

To be held on 24th November at St Bride's Church, this is the annual service when members of the Company and their families come together to remember and celebrate the lives and fellowship of Company members no longer with us.


Max Carey Trust Weekend of Turning

We have again arranged for Company members to receive a weekend of tuition in woodturning at the Max Carey Trust, Portishead from 4th to 6th November 2022. All abilities can be accommodated from absolute beginner to very proficient.


The Musicians’ Company Annual Evensong

The Worshipful Company of Musicians are holding their Annual Evensong service at St. Paul’s Cathedral by kind permission of the Dean and Chapter, on Wednesday, 5th October at 5.00 pm.


Livery Luncheon

To be held on 27th September, this is an informal lunch for Liverymen and their guests and an ideal time to introduce potential new members to the Company. There will be an opportunity to welcome our new Liverymen who will have been presented with the livery at the Court meeting preceding the lunch.


Ballad Walk the Craft of Medieval London

The 2022 Turners walk has been some months in the making. Featuring Medieval ballad and folk researcher Vivien Ellis and acclaimed Blue Badge Guide Dafywd Wyn Phillips, this walk will take place on 21st September starting at Guildhall Yard.


Simulating Talent through Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, A Seminar

The current Platinum Master’s year group had a Zoom call discussing Diversity and Inclusion at the end of March. The consensus from that discussion was that a follow up face to face seminar would be helpful. This will be held at Mercers' Hall on 21st July, all Liverymen welcome.
