Consorts Day with Turning Demonstration
The Mistress Turner Marilyn Luson hosted an invited group of 45 Livery company Consorts and friends to a turning demonstration day on Monday 18 March. Held at Cuddington Golf Club on the Surrey Downs overlooking London, the group enjoyed a lively demonstration given by Liveryman Les Thorne, followed by a sumptuous afternoon tea. Lady Mayoress Elizabeth Mainelli led the group’s appreciation of seeing an impressive candlestick and bowl emerge from Les’ lathe, with the tea providing a classically social occasion for all.
