Who can enter?

Any turner normally resident in the United Kingdom.

Theme

A decorated chalice produced on a lathe by the competitor.

Details

There is no restriction on size or style.  The work must be substantially completed by mechanical means, namely ornamental/rose engine turning.  All work to be by the competitor except for commercially made components such as screws.  Carving, polychromatic assembly, marquetry, inlay and the like may also be incorporated.  Any combination of legally sourced materials may be used.  Fractal burning may not be used.

There is no restriction on the number of entries by each competitor but the work must not have been entered in any other Company competition.

Prizes

The monetary prizes are £1,250 for first, £500 for second and £250 for third.  Only one prize will be awarded per competitor.  Commercial sponsors of the Competitions may also offer monetary awards or vouchers.

The winning entry will remain the property of the Worshipful Company of Turners.

Judging is on Monday 26th November (4pm to 6pm).

Public viewing is at the View, Love, Buy show on Tuesday 27th November (10am to 4pm).
