Introducing a new generation to woodturning
Saturday 12 August 2023 saw the latest instalment of the Youth Training programme delivered to 6 teenagers in Hampshire. RPT instructors Les Thorne, Martin Saban-Smith and Emma Cook provided a day’s tuition on the lathe as part of the programme funded by the Turners Company and the AWGB.
The 13-17 year-olds successfully learned to turn, polish and carve, each proudly leaving with a bowl, a bud vase and carving made during the day. At the conclusion they each received certificates from the hand of the Master, Nigel Luson.
