Who can enter?

Any turner normally resident in the United Kingdom or Republic of Ireland.

Theme

For 2025, the theme consists of three elements: sustainability; innovation (pushing boundaries with materials/techniques/forms); and community (that could mean collaborative or diverse participation).

The entry may be turned by hand or by mechanical means (ornamental or rose engine turning) or a combination of both, all materials used must be legally sourced. Wood must be the majority medium, innovative approaches to traditional woodturning are encouraged and may include embellishments such as mixed media, texturing, carving, or experimental forms.
Techniques such as carving, piercing, inlay, decorative colouring and finishing may be used. All work to be by the competitor(s)* except for commercially made components such as screws. Fractal burning may not be used.
Competitors may enter one piece only in this category, which should not have been entered in any other Company competition.
