Members Competition (Bert Marsh Plate)
Showcasing the developing talents of members of the Worshipful Company of Turners. In memory of Bert Marsh, a renowned woodturner, whose work was exhibited internationally and who did so much to inspire people in their turning, especially fellow members of the Turners’ Company.
Who can enter?
Amateur turners who are members of the Worshipful Company of Turners.
Theme
Any piece of work, with no restriction as to subject, size or style.
Details
A hand-turning competition, open to all members of the WCT who are amateur turners. Members of all abilities are encouraged to enter.
Pieces should not have been entered in any other Company competition.
Any combination of legally sourced materials may be used. All work to be created by the competitor except for commercially made components such as screws. The piece must be primarily turned on a lathe, there are no restrictions on embellishment however fractal burning may not be used.
Competitors may enter up to two pieces in this category, none of which should have been entered in any other Company competition.
Piece(s) may be offered for sale at the exhibition.
Prizes
First prize, trophy and a bottle of champagne; second prize, bottle of wine; third prize; certificate.
No competitor will be awarded more than one prize in any one category.
