Junior and Renter Wardens’ Evening of Cards
This special Junior and Renter Wardens’ event, held on the 8th February at Vintner’s Hall, in partnership between the Worshipful Company of Makers of Playing Cards and the National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society (NRAS), was an opportunity for those destined to share a year as Master the chance to meet and also to hear the work of the NRAS and all it does for those living with Rheumatoid Arthritis and children and young people living with Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis.
The evening commenced with drinks and a two course meal, which included a card themed dessert, before getting to grips with and playing Swedish Pursuit, a new variation of Swedish rummy, developed solely for the night. The object of the game is to score the least points. Playing two rounds of six hands with a hotly contested final, saw our Renter Warden, Andrew Neill, triumph as the overall winner.
The event, now in its second year, looks to bring together Junior and Renter Wardens and to expose NRAS to a number of Livery Companies. For further information on their work, please visit www.nras.org.uk.
