England V Ireland Clay Pigeon event in Co. Wicklow

Shaun with his daughter, Emma

New liveryman Shaun Stacey made his 26th international appearance for the England Shooting Team on the 9th September.

The tournament held at Carrickglen Gun Club, Co Wicklow Ireland was the 51st Home international sporting event and with England having won 49 out of the previous 50 events the pressure was on for the team to complete the half century! The club has a series of modern courses set in a natural setting, with a mix of mobile, stationary and 30 meter high towers, adding to the challenge and excitement of the shoot.

At this event, Shaun and his daughter Emma made history by becoming the first father & daughter to represent their country in the same England sporting team.

It is a pleasure to state that everything went to plan with England senior team winning the event by a margin of 43 clays to the Irish team who were runners-up.

Emma and the other England ladies also did so well winning the ladies event.

Shaun managed to cap the weekend by finishing Senior High Gun Runner-up in the event and 3rd overall in the whole tournament.

All trophies and medals were handed out after a wonderful banquet which went on to the early hours of the Irish morning!

An excellent result for Shaun and Stacey.  Well done!!
