The H.E. Twentyman Ornamental Turning Competition

This competition along with the Lady Gertrude Crawford and Fred Howe Competitions are held in conjunction with the Society of Ornamental Turners. They are in honour of three great exponents and patrons of ornamental turning.

Who can enter?

Members of the Society of Ornamental Turners.

There is no restriction on theme, style or size.

Entries should be predominantly in plain form, not necessarily of circular section, with the addition of a discrete element using either or both conventional ornamental turning and rose turning techniques. All work to be by the competitor except for commercially made components such as screws. Carving, polychromatic assembly, marquetry, inlay and the like may be incorporated. Any combination of legally sourced materials may be used. Fractal burning may not be used.

Competitors may enter up to two different pieces in this category, none of which should have been entered in any other Company competition.

Piece(s) may be offered for sale at the exhibition.

A prize of £100 and a Company silver medal
