Master’s Plain Turning Competition 2021
Who can enter?
Any turner normally resident in the United Kingdom or Republic of Ireland.
Theme
Any piece of turning containing two different species of wood. No restriction on size or style.
Detail
The entry must be plain turned on a lathe, by hand. The two woods must be clearly distinguishable. Techniques such as carving, piercing, inlay, decorative colouring and finishing may be used. All work to be by the competitor except for commercially made components such as screws. Any combination of legally sourced materials may be used. Fractal burning may not be used.
There is no restriction on the number of entries by each competitor but the work must not have been entered in any other Company competition.
Prizes
The monetary prizes are £1250 for first, £500 for second and £250 for third. Only one prize per competitor will be awarded. Commercial sponsors of the Competitions may also offer monetary awards or vouchers.
The winning entry will remain the property of the Worshipful Company of Turners.
