The Turners charity this year have opened up to its members the opportunity to suggest their own particular charitable causes. Amongst others the Charity has this year been delighted to support True Heroes.
True Heroes Racing is the UK’s FIRST & ONLY motorcycle race team dedicated to supporting Active and Inactive Wounded, Injured and Sick UK Armed Forces personnel & Veterans. Their mission is to provide a platform for these brave individuals to showcase their skills, courage and determination through the thrilling sport of motorcycle racing. Their team is made up of true heroes and they are proud to offer them opportunities in support of their recovery journey using the adrenaline-fuelled world of racing. True Heroes is committed to breaking barriers and challenging perceptions showing that, with determination and support, anything is possible. At True Heroes Racing they understand the incredible sacrifices and challenges faced by our Armed Forces personnel and Veterans. They believe that the adrenaline and camaraderie of motorcycle racing can provide a sense of purpose and drive for those who have given so much to our Country.
Another new charity the company is supporting this year is the Anglesey Vintage Society.
The Anglesey Vintage Equipment Society is run by volunteers and is an entirely self-funded charity. Established in the mid 1970s, the aims of the Society are to promote the preservation of old machinery and artefacts and, where possible, keep them in their native area. The Society own a 1953 Leyland Tiger Cub, the last bus built at Beaumaris by Saunders Roe (SARO) , an 1889 Aveling & Porter R10 Roller that spent its life building and maintaining the island’s roads, a Threshing Box that worked in Caernarfonshire and a recently acquired 1948 Jones Bailer.
