Our retired Clerk wins the Turners’ Golf Day!

The Golf Section held the annual Turners’ Golf Day at Beaconsfield Golf Club on 29 June. A keen group of 13 liverymen and guests enjoyed a course in splendid condition and posted some excellent scores. All enjoyed a fine lunch after play, and were honoured by the presence of the Master Turner Matthew Gaved who joined us to present the prizes. The Champion Turner with 41 Stableford points was Alex Robertson, Leading Guest Liz Thorne on 34 points, with runners-up Nigel Luson and Will Brown respectively. Winners took home some lovely turned pieces, along with additional prizes for Nearest to the Pin and Best Fantasy 3 ball team.
It was heartening to have at least two Company members making their first appearance at the Golf Day, and that others brought friends and family along to make for an enjoyable sporting and social atmosphere.
