The Turners’ Company Wizardry in Wood 2016 exhibition showcased beautiful and amazing original works by over 70 of the world’s greatest contemporary craftsmen.

It also featured the world-class Daniel Collection, all the winners and entries to the Turners’ Company’s 2016 Competitions and the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew collection.

Wizardry in Wood exhibitions are held every four years. The next Wizardry in Wood will be held in the Autumn of 2020.

ROYAL BOTANIC GARDENS, KEW EXHIBITS

Over two hundred outstanding exhibits from the Economic Botany Collection at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew were exhibited at Wizardry in Wood 2016.

It was the first time the Economic Botany Collection, Kew collection had been exhibited to the public in the City of London. The exhibition featured historical items from dozens of countries and provided a dramatic contrast to the finest contemporary woodturning across the rest of the Wizardry in Wood exhibition.

HISTORY OF WIZARDRY IN WOOD

Wizardry in Wood 2016 was the fourth exhibition held by the Worshipful Company of Turners to showcase the work of outstanding UK and international craftsmen.

Wizardry in Wood was launched by the Turners’ Company in 2004 on the 400th anniversary of the granting of the Company’s Royal Charter by James I in 1604.

The next Wizardry in Wood will be held in Autumn 2020.
